My Goliath

David spoke to Saul:
“The LORD, who delivered me from the claws of the lion and the bear,
will also keep me safe from the clutches of this Philistine.”
Saul answered David, “Go! the LORD will be with you.”

Then, staff in hand, David selected five smooth stones from the wadi
and put them in the pocket of his shepherd’s bag.
With his sling also ready to hand, he approached the Philistine.

Who or what is your Philistine/Goliath? What seems so overwhelming that you can’t/won’t deal with it?

David could fight Goliath because he asked and trusted in God’s help.

David’s weapons were simply five smooth stones – not something big and grand – and his trust in God’s help. How is God equipping you to face your overwhelming situation? Are you trusting God to help you? He won’t do it for you but will give you what you need.
